The clearest pictures of Aston Martin’s Lagonda super saloon have come to the fore courtesy of OmanAir. These photos have been published on the Middle Eastern airlines Facebook page, after the carrier tied up with the British auto manufacturer for the transportation of its top of the line and most exclusive sedan yet.
The hyper sedan has been bought to the capital of Oman as part of its hot weather pre-launch testing programme. The new Lagonda saloon has been specifically designed for the Middle East and will also be sold exclusively in this part of the world with the first deliveries expected to take place by next year. The car will be sold to wealthy clients in the region on the basis of ‘invitation only’, and limited numbers of the model will be made with the price being in harmony with the sedans exclusivity, quality and luxury quotient.
The Lagonda nameplate has been revived after several years and the pictures clearly show for the first time the design of this stunner. The super exclusive four-door saloon is heavily based on its predecessor but also incorporates modern elements with edgy and sleek styling cues to make it more relevant to the current generation.
Aston Martin is very tight lipped about this project and has not revealed much detail apart from saying that the Lagonda saloon shares the VH architecture, which can be found in most cars produced today by the UK based manufacturer. The hyper sedan will in all probability, be powered by the 5.9litre V12 which is seen in the Rapide S sportscar, giving this sedan impressive power figures of 552bhp and 630Nm of torque. Transmission duties should be handled by an 8-speed autobox giving this car a 0-100km/h time of around 4 seconds and a top speed in excess of 300kmph.
