It’s been a year since Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) launched its Grand i10 hatchback in the country. The car has went on to become a big seller for the company, and to commemorate this occasion the Korean major has come up with an anniversary edition called the “SportZ Edition”.
The new car gets SportZ themed decals on the side profile and 14-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Red paint scheme, blackened B-pillar and tailgate spoiler differentiates this trim from the rest of the lineup. Red theme continues inside as well, with the seats getting red, premium cloth upholstery. The leather wrapped steering wheel features mounted controls for controlling the Bluetooth and audio functions.
There is absolutely nothing new on the mechanical front and this makes you wonder, why is it called the “SportZ”? Sorry, I don’t have a clue. The petrol mill is the same 1.2litre Kappa unit churning out 81.8bhp and 116Nm of torque. The oil burner is the same 1.1litre CRDi unit delivering 70bhp and 163Nm of torque.
The “SportZ’ edition is launched at Rs 5,11,550/- for the petrol and Rs 5,98,554/- for the diesel. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
