Maruti, the biggest car maker in India is leaving no stone un-turned in its effort to make the most of the festive season. It is reported to have planned a slew of launches / upgrades to its lineup during the end of this year.
Previously we informed you that the manufacturer has started bookings for its new model (Ciaz), then we had an article about the new Swift facelift being spotted at the company’s stockyard and now we bring you images of the Dzire sedan facelift. Images of the new car have surfaced and our friends at Gaadi Waadi, say that it has already entered production
The new Dzire facelift will be available only for the top of the line variant and gets a number of cosmetic changes. These include tinted headlights, newly designed 10-spoke alloy wheels, new chrome grille, chrome enclosures for the fog lamp and a tweaked rear bumper. Interior changes will include push-button start, power folding side mirrors and keyless entry.
This is purely a cosmetic upgrade, so the mechanics remain the same. The petrol motor will be a 1.2litre K-series unit with the diesel being the same 1.3litreMultijet block. The petrol burner will be offered with the choice of 5-speed manual or a 4-speed autobox with the diesel restricted to only the 5-speed manual transmission.
The facelifted Dzire is expected to cost between Rs 5 – 7.5lakhs (ex-showroom). It will share the market with the new Tata Zest, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze.
