The major update is to the heart of the car. This XJ gets the 2.0litre, in-line, four cylinder unit having 237bhp and 340Nm of torque married to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Jaguar says this luxury limo will go from nought to 100kmph in 7.5seconds and hit a top speed of 241kmph. Fuel economy is a claimed 9.4kmpl with 253.31grams of carbon-dioxide emitted every kilometer.

Competition for the XJ is in the form of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series. Both are fantastic cars in their own right but the XJ does come across as a worthy competitor, which needs to be taken seriously.
