Maruti Suzuki has updated most of its range to be prepared for the oncoming festive season; it will also be launching its mid-size sedan the Ciaz around that time. The latest model to be updated is the much loved Wagon R and is called the Krest limited edition. The Krest is available immediately and comes at a premium of Rs-22,500/- over the existing model.
Maruti Suzuki says that the limited edition has ten smart features inside out. The exterior gets a new- front grille, body graphics and wheel covers apart from the mud flaps. Step inside and you will find a new double-din audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and reverse parking sensor with digital display. The feel of the cabin has been slightly improved with the addition of new covers for the seats and steering wheel which complement the new floor mats. Safety in the Wagon R Krest has been enhanced with the inclusion of keyless central locking.
The greasy bits remain the same. Power comes from the same 1.0litre, 3-pot, K-series engine developing 67bhp mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fuel efficiency is an ARAI tested 20.5kmpl in the petrol variant.
This is what Manohar Bhat, VP, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, had to say on the Krest, “The Wagon R, one of India’s top selling models, is known for its attributes like smart space, features and high fuel efficiency. While the Wagon R customer is practical he still aspires for differentiation. In line with this expectation Wagon R Krest has been tastefully packed with features that are smart & technologically superior making it more attractive for the customer. We are confident features like Reverse Parking Sensor with digital display, double din audio with Bluetooth will be cherished by technology savvy customers.”
