Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio has become one of the most popular and in-demand model from the company’s vast lineup. It has been selling like hot cakes since it was launched earlier this year. The company has now offered a Vxi+ package to go with the hatchback for a limited period only (read festive season). This package is available in all variants except the top-end Zxi trim.
The Vxi+ package includes body coloured – Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) and door handles. On the inside, this bundle will give you double DIN stereo system from JVC with MGA speakers and central locking. The interesting part is that this stock package which usually costs around Rs-20,000 is now available at a discounted price of Rs-13,990. That’s a saving of almost Rs-6,000.
Mechanically nothing changes, which means the small car gets the same 1.0litre petrol engine generating 67bhp and 90Nm of peak pulling power. The K-Next engine as it is called can be coupled with a 5-speed manual or the much sought after AMT gearbox. Maruti says the Celerio gives fuel efficiency figures of 23.1kmpl for both the manual and auto boxes. The Celerio range starts from Rs-3.96 lakh and goes up to Rs-5.03 lakh for the top-end Zxi. A CNG ‘Green’ variant is also offered for those wanting even more mileage.
