Nissan currently has the six variants of its people mover, the Evalia. The company has now launched its range topping trim and simply calls it the “Special Variant”, this will now take place of the XV (O) at the top. The Japanese manufacturers latest offering can be yours at Rs- 11.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
There are exterior revisions done to distinguish this model from the rest of the lineup. The changes though are mostly reserved for the front end, making the face of the Evalia more appealing than before. There is a generous amount of chrome applied on the front grille; chrome can also be seen in the fog lamp housing. Side profile remains unchanged with the exception of 10-spoke alloys. The rear gets a sporty looking tailgate mounted spoiler.
The ‘Special Version’ gets all the features found in the XV (O) like internal anti-glare rear-view mirror, double-din audio system with USB functionality, wooden finish for the dash, individual captain seats for the middle row, map lamps for the third row and AC vents for the middle and last row. There’s also a rear wiper for better visibility during rains and a rear defogger as well.
Nissan has introduced this new model to enhance the appeal of the Evalia especially on the style front, as the MPV doesn’t score well on that count due to its boxy form and huge dimensions. It will go directly against the recently launched Honda Mobilio RS, which is also similarly priced.
