Maruti Suzuki Will Launch The New Alto K10 On November 3

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed November 3 as the launch date for the new Alto K10. The hatchback is based on the Alto 800 but gets a bigger 1.0 litre engine. It has been doing well in the market and is one of the most affordable small cars in the country. The new car has been spotted several times and is an eagerly awaited model.

The new car is likely to retain the diminutive dimensions of the current generation but now gets a more modern, contemporary styling which should enhance its appeal even further. The front gets a new thick strip of chrome on the grille, bigger intakes on the redesigned bumpers and swept back headlamps. The sides remain almost unchanged with subtle revisions, like the door handles. The rear receives new tail lamp design looking strikingly similar to the Celerio.

The new Alto will also have mechanical changes complimenting the visual modification. The 1.0 litre, K-series engine has been reworked to provide better fuel efficiency. This is in line with the recent launch of the Swift hatchback which has also gained better mileage. The three pot motor produces 67bhp and 90Nm of torque, same as the current car; but the mileage has been boosted to an ARAI certified 24.07kmpl for both the manual and AMT variants. Yes, the Alto K10 will also come with an automatic transmission making it the most affordable automatic in the country.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Alto K10 with a killer price and if that is indeed the case, then the competition including the likes of Datsun Go and Hyundai Eon 1.0 litre, have a lot to worry about.
