Videos: Ken Block’s Gymkhana 6 parody

I am sure most of you know Ken Block and have watched his tyre immolating Gymkhana series. The Gymkhana is a tight winding stunt course in which Block performs insane feats like donuts, power slides resulting in huge tyre smoke and lots of close encounters. It also features absolute precision driving and turns taken with pinpoint accuracy. This series which has made Block a household name and propelled him to immense fame is now in its seventh iteration. If you have watched the sixth installment and liked it, I am sure you will love the video I have for you today.

Ken Box

Ali Kermani aka Ken Box

The video is made by Ali Kermani (who calls himself ‘Ken Box’) and is in fact a parody based on the sixth Gymkhana, this is Kermani’s way of paying homage to his idol. The video aptly titled “Crazy Cart Gymkhana Two” shows Mr.Box sliding and drifting around a loading dock chased by a dedicated, committed-to-his-duty gorilla security guard. The beast in this footage is a mini kart confined from all sides by a cardboard mimicking the original livery adorning Block’s (now replaced) Ford Fiesta ST. It is powered by a 24 volt electric motor producing a mammoth 200 watts and catapulting this baby from naught to 20 kmph (12mph) in 6.9 seconds, which is also its top speed. The cart also has a drift bar which varies the rear caster angle making the cart drive forwards, backwards, sideways and almost any other direction imaginable on land. Ali’s company, Razor, also manufactures these carts and they can be purchased from leading online retail stores for around $350 (Rs 22,000).

Now, I will stop boring you and let you enjoy the video, it will have you in splits by the time it’s finished, I guarantee. Let us know what you think of this article? Would you like to see more of these videos in the future? Let us know in the comments below.
