Suzuki launches fully faired Gixxer SF

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) this week launched the fully faired version of its critically acclaimed Gixxer flagship and calls it Gixxer SF. The sports bike has been launched at Rs 83,439 ex-showroom, Delhi and is available in three colours – Metallic Triton Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage White.

The Gixxer SF has a sleek, aerodynamic and sporty profile. Its fairing has been developed in the Hamamatsu wind-tunnel where the legendary Hayabusa, GSX-R and MotoGP machines are developed. The fairing has been designed to give maximum wind protection to the rider, reducing turbulence and drag, thereby delivering great aerodynamic efficiency. This directly results in higher down force for stable braking and lower drag for better handling at higher speeds. The short, dual exhausts with its unique cover, clear lens indicators and pinstriped wheels come together to give a look that should appeal to motorcycle enthusiasts.

This SF is powered by the same engine nestled in the naked Gixxer. The 155cc engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox and delivers maximum power figures of 14.6 bhp and 14Nm of peak torque. The brake setup consists of single disc at the front and drum at the rear. The addition of a fairing means that the SF now tips the scales at 139 kg.

Speaking on the occasion Atul Gupta, executive vice president, SMIPL said, “Young India is driving growth in the 150 cc bike category, a segment which has witnessed consistent growth in the motorcycle market. Suzuki is looking at expanding its presence and appeal among young customers with products that address their desire for style, performance and mileage. We have won customer hearts with the Gixxer. We are confident that the Gixxer SF too will thrill young buyers across India and further strengthen our market position.”
