Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. (YMIS) have launched ‘Fascino’, a new scooter based on the “Rich & Classy Modern Retro” design for the Indian Market. The bike can be brought in red, black, white and two hues of blue. It has been competitively priced at Rs 52,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The design is definitely retro with smooth bodywork and dynamic curves thrown in with some chrome-plated parts that succeed in giving it a pleasing overall appearance.
The Fascino is powered by an air-cooled, 113 cc engine with “BLUE CORE” technology. It makes 7 bhp at 7,500rpm and peak torque of 7.8 Nm at 5,000rpm; power is put to the road through a CVT unit. Yamaha says that the Fascino delivers 66 kilometres to the litre and weighs just 103 kg making it the lightest of all the bikes it sells in the country. This scooter has been introduced with the goal of attracting the trend-conscious young rider in to the company’s fold.
Commenting on the occasion, Masaki Asano, MD, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. We as a youthful brand wanted to present them with a product that could fascinate them and Fascino, we believe, will certainly be able to do the job well.”
To enhance and make the style-conscious public more aware about the Fascino, Yamaha had associated with Femina Miss India 2014 pageant and was also the title sponsor of Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva 2014 pageant.
