The country’s largest carmaker Maruti has launched the limited edition Maruti Swift Glory, to probably capitalize on the festive season. This is purely a cosmetic upgrade with some added features so don’t expect any performance improvements. It is available only on the VXi and VDi trim.
The exterior gets a sportier look owing to contrasting red colour on the front bumper, side skirts, rear spoiler and side mirrors. Other distinct touches are the racing stripes on the bonnet and roof, blackened C-pillar and side decals.
The interiors also continue with the contrast theme. The all-black cabin gets red accents on the seats, multi-function steering wheel and gear cover along with new floor mats. Additional features available are music system with Bluetooth support and reverse park assist with rear-view camera. The limited edition gets ABS and EBD but misses out on airbags. Automatic climate control and engine stop/start button come as standard.
There are no changes under the hood and the Swift comes with the same choice of 1.2-liter K-Series petrol and the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel units paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol and diesel deliver 20.4 kmpl and 25.2 kmpl respectively, as per ARAI certification.
Apart from this, Maruti will also be launching its much awaited Baleno premium hatchback this month.
