2016 Toyota Innova specifications and features have been detailed in a new video that has been released by the company. The MPV is set for a global unveil on November 23, 2015 and will be offered in three trims – G, V and Q, for Indonesian market. The pictures and specifications listed here belong to the Indonesian variant; but in terms of design this is how the Indian version will also look like, while the features may be different for India.
The all-new Innova gets extensive revisions on the outside as well as the inside. The body receives a more angular and aggressive front end with sharp styling prevailing at the back end. The front fascia is dominated by the huge grille that houses two chunky chrome strips at the top. It is flanked by stretched LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs in the top ‘Q’ trim. The striking features at the front is the inclusion of turn indicators inside the fog lamp housing.
The sides largely remain the same but get redesigned wheels and wing mirrors. The rear portion of the 2016 Toyota Innova also sees a lot of revisions with extended angular tail lights that will have normal bulbs in base variants, but likely to be LED units in higher trims; these will come with emergency brake signal that will flash several times during emergency braking. The dimensions of the MPV have already been leaked, these state that the vehicle is having a length, width and height of 4,735 mm, 1,830 mm and 1,795 mm; the wheelbase remains the same as the current model.
The interior of the all-new Innova will be getting a dual-tone theme with features such as multi-function steering wheel, redesigned instrument panel, automatic climate control, chilled glove box, ambient LED lighting and captain chairs for the second row with one-touch tumble feature. A 7.0-inch touchscreen gives access to the infotainment system that comes with navigation and also supports Bluetooth, SD card, HDMI and MIRACAST with higher-end trims also supporting gesture and voice commands.
Powering the 2016 Toyota Innova will be one petrol and diesel engine. The diesel engine is an all-new 2.4-litre four cylinder GD engine that produces 149 hp and 342 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre four cylinder VVT-i unit generating 139 hp and 183 Nm of twisting force. Both engines can be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Depending on the trim level, the 2016 Innova will be getting three or seven airbags, ABS, EBD, VSC and Hill Assist control. Indian launch of the all-new Innova is expected sometime next year.
