Hyundai has marked its presence at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016 with a huge display. The Korean auto major has for the first time showcased the Hyundai Tucson in India along with a large number of vehicles including the HND-14 Carlino concept, the futuristic Hyundai N 2025 Vision Vision GT concept and its Genesis luxury brand.
The Hyundai Tucson, according to the company, represents a “significant step forward”. The SUV has a bold and athletic presence and features the new generation of the signature hexagonal grille. The exterior of the Tucson is defined by bold proportions, flowing surfaces and sharp lines.
Details specifications of the SUV are yet to be announced but in overseas markets, power is derived from 2.0-litre four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 182 hp and 400 Nm of peak torque output. Power is delivered to all four wheels through an on demand AWD system and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Hyundai Vision N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo is a concept that was created for the popular Gran Turismo racing game. This concept looks futuristic and is definitely the eye candy of the Hyundai stall. Apart from being a looker, this racer is a showcase for Hyundai’s high performance ‘N’ brand and represents its future potential.
The Hyundai HND-14 Carlino is a sub-4metre concept SUV that was developed at the Namyang Design Centre in Korea. This example is an indicator of the future design direction that SUVs from the Korean automaker are likely to bear. The production version of this boxy and rugged-looking off-roader is expected by 2019, with the Maruti Vitara Brezza likely in its sights.
Hyundai recently announced that Genesis will be a sub-brand exclusively producing luxury cars for the global markets. The brand goes by the theme of ‘human-centered’ luxury which will be seen in its upcoming new models thus affording them the “highest standards of performance, design and innovation.”
